Aman Group Reinvents American Luxury with Amansanu Ranch in Texas Hill Country
In the Texas Hill Country, Aman Group advances its American presence with a markedly different register. The forthcoming Amansanu development unfolds across rolling terrain shaped by limestone escarpments, winding creeks, and expansive canyon views, located less than 90 minutes from Austin. This setting signals a deliberate shift toward landscape immersion, where the environment defines both pace and experience. The project introduces a ranch-led format, a first for the brand, aligning Aman’s traditionally serene, minimalist ethos with a more grounded, land-driven identity rooted in the American Southwest.
Architecture is entrusted to Olson Kundig, whose approach emphasizes restraint and responsiveness to terrain. Structures are carefully positioned to follow the natural contours of the land, framing light, distance, and horizon rather than dominating them. Standalone pavilions form the hotel’s core, while a limited collection of branded residences extends across private plots of ten acres or more. Each residence features four to eight bedrooms, private pools, and expansive outdoor living areas scaled to the surrounding landscape, reinforcing a sense of seclusion and continuity with nature.
The program remains intentionally measured, consistent with Aman’s philosophy of understated luxury. Dining venues are discreetly integrated across the site, while an Aman Spa and Wellness centre is set along a natural creek, anchoring the retreat in its environment. Recreational elements include racquet courts and an ქსensive network of hiking trails woven through the hills. A defining feature is the introduction of fully serviced stables, establishing horseback exploration as the operational core of the ranch experience. Amansanu becomes the sixth US property in Aman’s portfolio, joining Amangiri, Amangani, and Aman New York, with Beverly Hills and Miami Beach developments underway. No opening date has yet been confirmed.
