Rolex’s Rare Four Seasons Daytonas
On September 28, 2026, Phillips will present four unique Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watches at auction in London, each offered as a separate lot. Together, the four references form the Four Seasons series, created within Rolex’s Perpetual Planet Initiative. The project brings together the language of high jewellery, serious watch collecting and philanthropy, with proceeds benefiting the Federer Foundation, founded by Roger Federer, and Re:wild, the environmental organisation launched with Leonardo DiCaprio.
The four Daytonas share the same underlying architecture but are distinguished by their materials and colour palettes. Spring, reference 126599 SAVL, is crafted in 18 ct white gold with a chrysoprase dial, lepidolite counters and purple sapphires. Summer, reference 126595 SARO, moves to 18 ct Everose gold, turquoise and heart of ruby, with pink sapphires. Autumn, reference 126598 TML, combines 18 ct yellow gold with mookaite, chrysoprase and green tourmalines. Winter, reference 126596 SABV, is presented in 950 platinum, with blue opal, lapis lazuli, diamonds and sapphires arranged in a blue-to-fuchsia gradient. Each bezel carries 36 trapeze-cut gemstones, while 54 brilliant-cut diamonds are set across the lugs and crown guards.
What separates the Four Seasons series from a conventional gem-set Daytona is its status as a collection of one-off references. Each configuration exists as a single piece, giving the watches a place closer to contemporary collecting than regular production. All four are powered by Rolex calibre 4131, with an approximately 72-hour power reserve and Superlative Chronometer certification. Their final values will be established only when the four lots cross the Phillips auction room in London on September 28. The result is less a new Daytona variation than four individual expressions of Rolex’s modern gem-setting vocabulary, created for a single auction and a defined philanthropic purpose.
