Porsche’s Boldest GT3 Yet – The 2027 S/C Cabriolet Changes Everything
The latest evolution of Porsche’s GT lineage arrives in unexpected form, as the 2027 911 GT3 S/C introduces a cabriolet configuration without compromising its core identity. Retaining the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six, the engine produces 510 PS and revs to a soaring 9,000 rpm, paired exclusively with a short-ratio 6-speed manual transmission. Despite the structural changes, performance remains uncompromised, with 0–100 km/h achieved in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 313 km/h. The total weight stands at 1,497 kg, placing it slightly above historic lightweight variants, yet still firmly within GT expectations.
Extensive use of carbon fibre defines the body structure, including the doors, hood, and fenders, while magnesium plays a critical role in both the centre-lock wheels and the cabriolet roof system. The fully automatic roof features magnesium ribs beneath a fabric outer layer and operates in approximately 12 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Its design preserves a seamless silhouette from windscreen to rear deck, avoiding any visible structural interruption and maintaining the iconic 911 profile even in open form.
Inside, the configuration remains strictly a two-seater, equipped as standard with 4-way Sports Seats Plus and offering optional carbon-fibre bucket seats. The cabin adheres to a restrained design language, featuring black leather, perforated surfaces, and the signature left-mounted rotary ignition switch. A Track Screen mode strips instrumentation to essential data, reinforcing the car’s focused intent. Mechanical elements borrowed from the 911 S/T enhance performance further, including PCCB brakes that save over 20 kg, magnesium wheels reducing rotational mass by 9 kg, and a lightweight lithium-ion battery shaving an additional 4 kg. A Street Style Package adds visual flair through Pyro Red accents and a two-tone interior, while a dedicated 80-litre rear storage module provides functional practicality. Production remains open, signaling Porsche’s confidence in this bold reinterpretation of a GT icon.
