Louis Vuitton Elevated Australian Open 2026 With Iconic Trophy Trunks

Louis Vuitton returned to the global stage of elite tennis as the official partner of the Australian Open 2026, bringing couture craftsmanship into the heart of one of sport’s most prestigious tournaments. The House created two bespoke Monogram trunks designed to hold the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup and the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup, transforming the presentation of these historic trophies into a refined ceremonial moment. Handcrafted in the Asnières workshops, each trunk reflected Louis Vuitton’s legacy in trunk making while seamlessly integrating into contemporary sporting culture. The signature Monogram canvas defined the exterior, while a white V subtly referenced both victory and Vuitton, re

Inside, the trunks revealed a meticulously designed blue microfiber lining that aligned with the official Australian Open colour palette, complemented by a discreet white AO logo beneath the lid. This interior design mirrored the vibrant tones of the tournament courts and the energy of Melbourne’s summer competition, creating a visual harmony between object and environment. Both functional and ceremonial, the trunks protected the trophies while serving as a striking visual centrepiece during award presentations. Every detail, from material selection to colour coordination, reflected a dialogue between luxury design, sporting heritage and the emotional resonance of victory, elevating the significance of the objects that framed these moments.

Originally unveiled during the finals on 25 and 26 January 2025, the trunks later formed part of Louis Vuitton’s continued collaboration with the Australian Open for the 2026 edition. This partnership, following the brand’s return to tennis in 2023, highlighted shared values of excellence, innovation and respect for tradition, as noted by Tennis Australia leadership. Through these creations, Louis Vuitton demonstrated how heritage craftsmanship enhanced modern sporting culture, turning championship ceremonies into global spectacles where design, performance and legacy converged.
