Audemars Piguet Opens a Private Club Experience in Miami Beach
Audemars Piguet has unveiled its latest AP House in Miami Beach, reinforcing a retail evolution that shifts away from the traditional storefront toward a more intimate and private environment. Spanning 7,300 square feet, the space is positioned within the city’s iconic Art Deco grid and oriented toward expansive ocean views. Developed in collaboration with Studio DADO, the project integrates the established AP House design language while subtly incorporating Miami’s visual identity through blush tones, softened contours, and a refined mix of stone, wood, metal, and textured glass.
Access to the space is intentionally controlled, emphasizing exclusivity and experience over foot traffic. Movement unfolds through a curated sequence rather than a conventional retail layout, guiding visitors across distinct zones that balance openness and privacy. A micro-museum anchors the narrative, showcasing selected archival timepieces that highlight the brand’s heritage. Nearby, a watchmaker’s hutch creates a direct connection between client and craft, offering hands-on interaction with specialists alongside a carefully curated range of straps and customization options.
The interior transitions fluidly between enclosed rooms and social areas, culminating in a lounge designed for informal hospitality. A dedicated listening corner, complete with a record player and vinyl selection, reinforces the residential atmosphere, while art is seamlessly embedded into the environment rather than presented as a standalone feature. Works from Geneva’s Wilde Gallery appear alongside sculptures by Brazilian artist Sallisa Rosa and rotating contemporary commissions. Extending outward, a terrace opens to Miami’s climate, framing views of the water and skyline. This new opening marks Audemars Piguet’s second Miami location following its longstanding Bal Harbour boutique established in 2006, and further expands a global AP House network spanning cities from New York to Zurich and Tokyo. As Louis-Gabriel Fichet notes, the space is designed to welcome clients, partners, and friends into a setting defined by connection rather than transaction.
