Within the Ultima Collection, Gstaad and Crans-Montana represent two distinct approaches to alpine living. One places guests within the established social rhythm of a Swiss resort, combining the intimacy of a boutique hotel with seasonal dining and proximity to the village. The other is conceived as a private chalet estate, where scale, seclusion and a dedicated service team define the experience. The distinction is less about the level of luxury than the way it is experienced.
Ultima Hotel Gstaad occupies a quieter stretch of the village, within a 10-minute walk of the Promenade and close to the Eggli ski station. Behind its traditional chalet exterior, the 11-suite property takes a contemporary direction, with marble bathrooms, velvet furnishings, electric fireplaces and private balconies. Its residences accommodate up to eight guests across four bedrooms, while the signature suites offer a more intimate arrangement. An indoor pool, outdoor jacuzzi, hammam and dedicated wellness facilities form part of the hotel’s spa. Dining adds another dimension to the property’s identity, with rotating restaurant concepts taking residence during the ski season.
Ultima Crans-Montana takes a more residential approach. Set in the Plan-Mayens area, close to the Crans Cry d'Er chairlift, the estate comprises two adjoining private chalets spanning approximately 4,500 sqm. Available individually or together, they accommodate up to 38 guests. Across the two properties, 14 bedroom suites are complemented by children's dormitories, private offices, libraries and cigar lounges. Shared spaces include a private cinema, billiard room, arcade room and underground bar. At the centre of the estate is a 1,000 sqm spa, finished in Bahia Blanca marble and teakwood, with Baccarat crystal chandeliers and a 35°C heated outdoor pool. A private chef, property manager, chauffeur, service team and spa therapists support the residence throughout the stay.
The contrast is ultimately one of setting and scale. Gstaad offers access to the restaurants, boutiques and social calendar of an established alpine destination. Crans-Montana offers the autonomy of a private estate, where accommodation, wellness and service are organised around the group itself.
