Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Unveils Luminara’s 2027 Alaska and Asia Voyages

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has confirmed a second Alaska and Asia season for its luxury superyacht Luminara in 2027, expanding the brand’s growing presence in small-ship exploration cruising. Running from April through October, the programme introduces 21 voyages that move between North America and Northeast Asia. The schedule includes 15 sailings through Alaska, four voyages across Asia, and two transpacific crossings linking the regions. Routes between Vancouver and Whittier follow the dramatic Inside Passage, with scenic cruising through Tracy Arm Fjord and extensive glacier viewing. Nearly all itineraries of eight nights or longer feature a dedicated glacier day, reinforcing the voyage’s emphasis on immersive wilderness experiences delivered aboard a yacht-sized vessel designed for smaller ports and quieter anchorages.

Luminara’s scale allows access to destinations that larger cruise ships cannot reach, and the 2027 Alaska itineraries highlight smaller communities such as Wrangell and Klawock alongside iconic natural landscapes. Some departures are timed to coincide with Wrangell’s renowned salmon run and bear viewing season, adding a seasonal wildlife dimension to the voyages. The yacht accommodates approximately 452 guests across 226 all-suite residences, each featuring a private terrace that keeps guests closely connected to the surrounding scenery. Launched in July 2025 as the third vessel in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection fleet after Evrima and Ilma, Luminara blends expedition style exploration with luxury hospitality through curated shore excursions such as glacier flightseeing, wilderness landings, and Zodiac expeditions launched directly from the yacht’s marina platform.

The 2027 Asia voyages introduce several new ports for the brand while combining cultural depth with culinary discovery. Seoul, accessed through Incheon, will operate as a turnaround port while Tianjin appears as a gateway for journeys to Beijing. Northern Japan also joins the schedule with inaugural calls in Otaru and Akita, including select itineraries featuring overnight stays in Otaru that allow guests to explore its historic canal district and surrounding coastal towns. Other cultural experiences include food tours in Fukuoka, matcha workshops in Uji, and visits to landmarks such as the famed Itsukushima Shrine near Hiroshima.
