Aman Brings Quiet Luxury to Baja
Aman has officially opened reservations for Amanvari, the brand’s first property in Mexico, scheduled to debut on 1 August 2026 along Baja California’s increasingly coveted East Cape. Positioned within the exclusive Costa Palmas development where desert terrain meets the Sea of Cortéz, the resort introduces Aman’s signature low-density philosophy to one of the fastest-rising ultra-luxury destinations in the Americas. Designed by Heah & Co., Amanvari will feature just 18 private casitas spread across beachfront dunes, elevated palm groves, and estuary-facing landscapes, reinforcing the brand’s long-standing focus on privacy, space, and environmental integration.
Each casita follows Aman’s restrained architectural language, combining natural textures with expansive open-air living environments. Floor-to-ceiling openings, private heated pools, internal courtyards, and oversized terraces create a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor space, while sand-toned interiors reflect the surrounding Baja landscape. Several residences sit directly on the shoreline, while others overlook the estuary or the Sea of Cortéz, positioning the natural environment as the defining visual element throughout the property. Amanvari arrives as East Cape continues to evolve into a serious competitor within the global luxury hospitality market, attracting attention for its quieter atmosphere and protected coastline compared with the more commercialised corridors of Los Cabos.
Dining and wellness remain central to the Amanvari experience. The resort will include Sesui, Aman’s intimate Japanese omakase concept with a 10-seat counter, alongside Arva, the brand’s Italian dining venue, and Luma, a coastal restaurant centred on open-fire cuisine. A quieter cocktail programme will operate from The Lounge. The Amanvari Spa will feature six treatment rooms, two Hydro Houses equipped with banya and hammam facilities, a contemporary temazcal, outdoor relaxation areas, and a 24-hour fitness centre integrated into the estuary landscape. Guests will also gain access to Costa Palmas’ 1,500-acre estate, private marina, yacht club, organic farms, and three miles of swimmable beach, with activities ranging from snorkelling and diving to horseback riding, hiking, and open-water exploration across the Sea of Cortéz.
