ALG Club Stands Out for Its Guidance for Swiss Investors
In Switzerland, where private banking has long defined the relationship between wealth and financial expertise, two brothers are developing a different approach to investment guidance. Ahmed and Hassan Al Gizani, founders of ALG Club, based in Biel, Switzerland, have created an investment community built around personalised support, direct access and long-term relationships. Their ambition is to make the individual attention traditionally associated with private wealth management accessible to a broader circle of investors and entrepreneurs.
Their journey began long before ALG Club was established. Having explored entrepreneurship together from an early age, the brothers discovered a shared interest in financial markets and gradually developed their own investment approach. Interestingly, the idea of ALG Club did not initially come from the brothers themselves. An entrepreneur running a restaurant in the canton of Bern, familiar with their personal investment activities, approached them for advice and encouraged them to turn their expertise into a business. What began as a personal request became the foundation of a club combining financial education, tailored support and a strong sense of community.
Today, ALG Club brings together its proprietary OMÉGA System and a philosophy that places human relationships at the centre of the investment experience. Beyond financial education, the brothers are creating an environment where members can exchange knowledge, build valuable connections and benefit from direct access to expertise. Looking ahead, their ambition is to expand the club's reach while maintaining the trust and personal attention that define its identity. In an exclusive interview with Swiss Luxury Magazine, Ahmed and Hassan discuss their entrepreneurial journey, what distinguishes their approach and their vision for the future.
IN CONVERSATION WITH THE FOUNDERS
As brothers, how did you begin working together? Was building ALG Club always part of the plan, and how do your personalities complement each other today?
Ahmed: What you have to understand is that we've done everything together. We started everything together, we've always worked together, and we'll always work together. We started when we were around 14 and 15 years old, first with e-commerce. Then we tried different businesses until around 2019, when someone we knew invited us to a conference about finance, investing and trading in Geneva. We knew absolutely nothing about it, but we had nothing to lose. That day, Hassan and I had a real turning point.
We knew this was it: numbers, mathematics, investing. We're Iraqi, and we feel a connection to the historical contributions of our region to mathematics and numbers. Since then, that's all we've been doing. We've now spent around seven years in investing and finance, working and evolving together.
The idea for the club was actually very simple. We were already achieving very good results with our personal investments, and our friends and family knew what we were doing. An entrepreneur who owned a large restaurant in the canton of Bern approached us. He said, "Guys, what you're doing is incredible. I'd love you to guide me. How can I do that?" Then he told us we should launch something. That's how the idea came about. It didn't come from us. The demand was already there, and someone suggested we do it. Initially, we had never wanted to do that. We just wanted to manage our own investments. But we thought other people could benefit from it too.
When we decided to create something in finance, we knew we didn't want to do something ordinary. We wanted to do something completely different from what financial institutions were offering.
Hassan: We have completely different personalities. I like to describe us as a kind of yin and yang. Ahmed has a more fiery personality, whereas I'm more structured. I have a more rational, calmer, almost stoic way of thinking. We see things differently, and that's a good thing. Otherwise, we'd always just agree with each other, and that's not how you move forward. In our work, Ahmed is perhaps more sales-oriented, while I'm more focused on technology and IT. We complement each other in those areas, and our personalities complement each other too.
What do you offer investors today that they cannot find elsewhere? What truly makes your approach to supporting members different?
Ahmed: The first thing is that we've created our own investment system. We've been using it since 2020. It adapts to different financial markets, investor profiles and return objectives. We've been navigating the markets with this system for six years, and we've achieved very good performance with it. Most importantly, we're independent of financial institutions. We believe this independence helps us avoid conflicts of interest, and our system allows us to invest across different markets, identify opportunities and position ourselves differently. We focus on markets when we consider them undervalued. According to our own results, this has allowed us to outperform certain benchmark indices.
Hassan: The first thing that makes our support different is the proximity we have with our members. Our goal is to have fewer members, but to offer the highest possible quality. It's about being close to them, being available through WhatsApp, providing real support and making sure they feel confident. People in the club really feel like they're part of a family. Several members have actually told us that. The point isn't to be in a group where nobody knows each other and everyone only talks about investing. There are people in the club we can go out with and have a drink with. We build that proximity through events, live sessions and messages. That's how trust develops.
Ahmed: I'd add something important. In investment funds and private banks, this kind of service is generally accessible only to a certain elite, starting from certain amounts of capital. Sometimes it's CHF 500,000, and some banks even require several million. Most ordinary people don't have access to that kind of service. We wanted to create something where serious people who want to invest and grow their wealth can access a very high-quality service, with the kind of proximity you find in private banking. We work with a limited number of clients, but we give the same importance to someone with CHF 10,000 as someone with CHF 200,000. They're equally important to us. We treat them the same way, help them work towards growing their capital and build a long-term relationship.
Why did you decide to create a genuine club rather than simply an investment education platform? What do personal relationships and member events bring to ALG Club?
Hassan: What you have to understand is that, for us, education is a bonus. People who want to learn, understand, educate themselves, and become independent can take the courses, but education is theory. We've introduced quizzes and tests so members can't progress without validating the prerequisites. The heart of the club is the guidance behind it: having a coach who follows you, having an expert behind you. The goal is to put theory into practice and implement real things that deliver results. That's the whole ecosystem we've created.
Education is part of it, but simply having an education platform isn't enough. Events and meetings are also extremely important. Today, we live in a digital, online world, and we want to step outside that environment. We've always been people who value relationships, natural interactions and physical presence. We're real people. We're here. We're not in Dubai or somewhere else. We're physically present. We want people to meet us, come to our offices, have real conversations and build real relationships.
Trust online is completely different from trust in person, when you actually speak face to face, shake hands and discuss deeper subjects. That's why we organise events. They create a great deal of trust and allow us to build genuine long-term relationships. Beyond the investment ecosystem, the goal is also to create a network. Everything starts with your network and your contacts. Within a club, you might meet a tradesperson, someone in real estate, someone in healthcare or another industry. The goal is to build an investment club where everyone can make connections, do business together, and move forward.
What changes have you noticed in the way people approach investing and wealth creation? What are investors really looking for today?
Hassan: One of the biggest things we've noticed is the lack of financial education. Many people want to invest and grow their wealth, but they don't necessarily understand how financial markets work or how to structure their investments. This is particularly true when it comes to Islamic finance, where we believe there is still a significant lack of accessible information for Muslim investors. Today, people are looking for security, transparency and, above all, trust.
There are so many scams and misleading promises online that investors are increasingly careful about whom they listen to. With artificial intelligence, YouTube and all the information available online, it's easier than ever to access financial content, but that doesn't mean people know what to do with it. Some invest automatically in ETFs without really understanding their allocation or diversification, while others are afraid to invest at all. For us, the most important thing is to understand what you're doing before focusing on potential returns. Technology can provide information, but it doesn't replace personalised human guidance.
Is there an experience with a member that particularly stayed with you, where your guidance made a real difference beyond financial performance?
Hassan: There are several experiences that have stayed with me, especially with members who had already invested before joining the club, often in the wrong way. Some had made a little money, but most had lost money. They arrived with negative views about investing because they'd had bad experiences, which is understandable. As we gradually restructure and rebalance their portfolios, and when they eventually start seeing gains, it brings real satisfaction, both personally and for the member. That's something that has particularly stayed with me, and it's happened with several members.
Ahmed: I also have many examples, but one I find particularly interesting involves an entrepreneur. Most of the entrepreneurs we support don't have much time, between their professional lives, families, sports and everything else. They're people who have money to invest, but that money is often sitting idle, potentially representing a significant missed opportunity. We've structured and automated much of the process within our ecosystem so that our clients can spend very little time on it, around 30 minutes to one hour per month.
The idea is to structure their wealth, understand how to invest and establish proper asset allocation, while allowing them to focus on their business and generating cash flow. What I've noticed is that most entrepreneurs are very good at what they do professionally. But knowing how to make money and knowing how to keep it and grow it are two completely different skill sets. That's what has really stayed with me: being able to help entrepreneurs go beyond their core activity of generating cash.
What is your vision for ALG Club over the coming years? Where would you like to be in five years, and what can we wish you for the future?
Hassan: Our vision for ALG Club is really to become the reference investment club, because Switzerland is the world's financial capital. We created this club to become number one in Switzerland first, and then expand internationally. Especially in our niche, Islamic finance, there currently isn't nearly enough information or enough services available for Muslim investors, whether in the Gulf, Europe or Switzerland. We want to become a real reference in this field, the leading organisation supporting Muslims with their investments.
Over the next five years, we'd like to reach between 1,000 and 5,000 clients and support the most serious and committed people, building a truly high-quality network. The goal is to continue helping as many people as possible while maintaining the highest level of client satisfaction. That's extremely important to us. It's one of our central values, and we want to continue growing with that mentality.
